Map the article before revising it
Write down the purpose of each section in a short sentence. Look for repetition, missing explanations, and conclusions that do not follow from the body. Decide which sections to keep, move, combine, or remove before polishing the wording.
Keep a source copy with its citations and links. If a section is moved, its supporting evidence needs to move with it. A shorter version should still explain the qualifications that matter.
Rewrite sections with the wider argument in view
Work on one section at a time, but give each section enough context to fit the whole article. Keep key terminology consistent. A product called a “workspace” in the opening should not become a “platform,” “portal,” and “system” without a reason.
After each pass, check transitions. A sentence that says “as a result” should follow a genuine cause, and a paragraph introduced as a contrast should actually offer one.
Check ownership, evidence, and repetition
An article changer cannot make someone else’s ideas become your own. Preserve attribution and distinguish quotations from your explanation. Replacing words alone does not resolve copied reasoning or unsupported claims.
Read the revised piece from beginning to end. Remove duplicated introductions, confirm numbers and links, and check that the title describes what the article now delivers. Avoid judging the result only by how different it looks from the source.
A few useful answers.
Can I rewrite an entire article at once?+
You can, but section-by-section review makes missing details and inconsistent terms easier to catch. Finish with a full read-through.
Does rewriting remove the need to cite sources?+
No. Credit the sources of borrowed ideas and evidence even when the wording changes.
How is an article rewriter different from a paragraph rewriter?+
Article revision must also account for headings, argument order, transitions, and consistency across sections.
